About Us

Lead & Feed is run by me, Sandra Turpin, with help from my husband Geoff. Animals are our passion and we have loved and owned dogs for over 20 years.

We currently have 2 beautiful Golden Retrievers, Rufus & Oscar, as well as horses, goats & chickens!

Having previously worked for the RSPCA, I have gained a wealth of knowledge and invaluable experience of caring for dogs of all ages, breeds and sizes.

We are very fortunate to live in a beautiful, tranquil part of the Essex countryside where your cherished family pet can come and live with us in our home and experience a real holiday, giving you total peace of mind while you enjoy yours.

                                                         Our Home

Our home boarding experience provides 24 hour care and supervision. We adhere to the owner's regime to limit the changes to your dog's daily routine to keep any stress to a minimum.

All daily walks (as advised by you) are on-lead only unless authorised by the owner to allow off-lead exercise in a fully fenced and secure 2 acre paddock.

                                               Our Garden

As your dog will be living with our 2 dogs, and possibly other boarders, it is essential that your dog is of a friendly, sociable, well-behaved nature. We require any potential clients to come and meet us and our dogs for a 'meet & greet' session with their own dogs, followed by a 'trial' stay, before accepting any long-term booking. This only needs to take place prior to the first booking or if a new dog is introduced into your family. As the initial meet & greet may take up to an hour, this is strictly by appointment only.

All dogs must be up to date with vaccinations (or have valid titre test results as an alternative), plus worming & flea treatments.

Sorry, but we do NOT board bitches in season or entire males over 8 months of age.
